Holy Tester
Description:
The Holy Grail has been shattered into mere fragments, breaking an ancient seal and unleashing minions of hell! Each fragment has transformed into a mini grail holding one aspect of the Holy Grail’s enormous power.
You’ll need these grails to contend with fearsome enemies. The Hellbat darts around the room and spits fireballs. The Taurush charges at you head-on and if he connects his attack, he will stun you! Choose your grails wisely, as no playthrough is quite the same. Explore a randomly-generated dungeon and gather all fragments to assemble the shattered Holy Grail!
Background:
This game was developed in the Games Workshop II class with the entire class working on one game.
I focused on UI art and website development for this project. With 16 people working this game, I was able to make UI art that I was really proud of like the home screen, pause screen, health/mana bars, and logo creation. I also did some texturing for several level assets like a brick wall, pillars, and rocks using Substance Painter which I hadn’t used before this class. I found it easy to pick up and mess with after watching just a few videos.
Every week I updated the development blog for the game with updated builds and new looks while adhering to the color palette of the game.
Here is a gallery of the artwork that I worked on for this project.
These are a few of the UI mockups that I created.
